A Come To Jesus............

Dear Hue Jackson,

I am sure I speak for a majority of the Raider Nation when I tell you that we are very disappointed with the level of play that our team has been exhibiting over the past few weeks. I for one have been quite upset at the play of our defense and feel that it is time for a change.

All year long, we have been gashed for yards in the air, we have been in the cellar of the league at stopping the run, we give the opposition free yards via penalties and quite frankly we are out of position on a majority of our defensive calls and the schemes do not work.

As a former football player, one thing that I do not understand from a leadership standpoint is how you can pull out a red laser and point out the faults of your players in the recap meetings of the previous week, how you can go out and search for new players because a player isn't doing his job, yet I have yet to see you bring in a defensive coach to scout him to put Bresnahan on notice. I don't think he feels the heat like the players do and personally, there is no accountability on his shoulders. All year long, the one thing you say is that you put players in a position to win their match ups. You try to put their talents to good use. CHUCK BRESNAHAN DOES NOT FOLLOW THIS M.O.

Please remember something Hue, this Nation believes in you. Whether it be your energy, your coaching style, your system or the fact that Al entrusted you in managing our team, BUT........... there is something you have forgotten about and that is that the Nation is one who is devoted to the TEAM, not the individuals. EVERYONE is on a short leash.

That being said, this Sunday, look into the stands. Look at all of the faces that pack the house as we have done all year long with sell out after sell out. Hard working White and Blue collar folks who PAY their earnings to watch a PROFESSIONAL Football team COMPETE. Hey, Win Lose or Tie, Raiders till we Die, but you need to get the point across to this team that they are not only killing themselves, but they are killing the fan base as well and if they don't get their shit together as a team, those faces will find something else to spend their money on.

Please allow me to let you know how this hurts us each week financially:

$50 Average Pair of tickets
$150 Average Spend to Tailgate
$40 Average Gas
$30 Concessions
$20 Parking

That is an average of $300 per pair of fans (As a family). Obviously, larger groups spend more. But that is a prime example of what I am talking about.

We expect to be in the playoffs this year Hue. We expect to be a CONTENDER THIS YEAR! We have the players to make it happen. We have the talent. We have the energy and the WILL TO WIN, and it has been proven by the amount of wins the team has gotten thus far, but mediocrity will not be tolerated. Telling us that you are going to get it fixed at some point this year is not good enough 14 weeks into the season. Saying that we are doing everything to get this turned around is not good enough anymore. MAKE IT HAPPEN! SIT PLAYERS AND RELIEVE COACHES WHO DO NOT PERFORM!

You have us one game behind the Division leader Donkeys, after leading this thing by 2 games. We have 3 games remaining to prove something.

The time is now Hue.

Keys to Victory Against The Pack......

I know you have all heard the term, "Any Given Sunday" right?

If you have lived under a rock for a while, that means that any team can beat any team on Sunday when you are playing between the sidelines and end zones.

People, like myself, will always point to stats and other things that have happened in the past that can potentially lead us to the type of game plan that the Raiders can use to actually pull out a improbable win against an almost unbeatable team. But are they really unbeatable?

I think the Giants exposed them last week. So I will tell you what the Raiders are going to do that will contain these guys.

1. Contain Jordy Nelson. This guy is on par for a Pro Bowl year and he isn't slowing down. The objective with this guy is to let him know that if he thinks he is going to have easy receptions over the middle of the field, Rolando McClain, Aaron Curry and the rest of the defensive backfield is going to impose some punishment that will make him think twice the next time.

2. Control, not shut down Greg Jennings. He is the leading receiver this year with 65 receptions for 969 yards. Limit him in his touches and zone in on him when he does catch it. Everyone has to attack this guy when he gets the ball. That includes Defensive linemen hustling to make tackles down field. Play Championship defense!

3. GET PRESSURE ON AARON RODGERS! You have to remember, Rodgers was sacked 50 times in 2009, 31 times in 2010 and 29 in 2011 and didn't have nearly as much success as he is now. This will be key to defeating Green Bay this weekend. Hit him and hit him often. Wimbley, Seymour and Desmond Bryant should have big games

4. Re-Establish the Run. Bush needs to have a minimum of 100 yards and dominate the line of scrimmage. The problem I saw last week was that Miami had more corner speed and because McFadden and Jones are hurt, the defense knew that Bush was going to be running between the tackles. Green Bay is soft up the middle, so even if they stack the box, our line has to make room for Bush to get to the second level and smash these linebackers.

5. Use a minimum if 4 trick plays through the game. Whether it be a reverse, halfback option, fake punt or whatever. Jackson has to keep these guys on their toes and not allow the defense to key in on what we are doing. Lets get back to being unpredictable and score points. These plays will open it up for Bush to run and for Palmer to complete normally impossible throws.

6. CONVERT 3rd downs. We have sucked in 3rd down territory. This year, the Raiders are  54 for 153 or 35%. This has impacted our Offensive time of possession with an average of 29 minutes a game and also opens the flood gates for teams to rip apart our often exposed defense. We need to limit the Offensive opportunities of Green Bay via the time of possession.

7. CONTAIN GREEN BAYS SPECIAL TEAMS!!!!! We need to dominate field position in this game. Force deep 3 and outs and get our offense the ball back.

All in all, this is going to have to be the most flawless game we play. We can't get frustrated if they get up on us. We have to dig deep and stay in tune with the game and force the momentum back to our side of the ball. Whether that's scoring touchdowns on offense, getting turnovers on defense or just running the ball, find the momentum and maintain the game. No mistake football.

ANY GIVEN SUNDAY!

Ho Ho Ho...... Santa Claus Is Coming To ......... The Black Hole?

Well what do you know Raider Nation? Looks like one of our favorite personalities in life has made the change from the Red and White to the Silver and Black...... Its Raider Claus!

Apparently I caught him at a down time in production of the toys for our little ones and was able to ask him some questions about what he does here in Southern California in his "off time" from the Mrs. Check this interview out..... Remember, he is watching you so you better read it all and Tweet it on Twitter to your friends and Share the story on Face Book!

Chaotic View: "So Santa, I mean Raider Claus.... What are you doing here in Southern California when you should be up making gifts for all of the millions of rug rats around the world?"
Raider Claus: "Every year I come to Southern California to work with a variety of charitable organizations. With the support of Oakland Raiders Booster Clubs and fans I’m able to brighten a child’s Christmas with a gift to open on Christmas morning. I’m a strong believer of giving back to the community and showing the positive images of what we as fans do. I believe the youth of today need strong role models so when not as Raider Claus I also serve as a mentor and do public speaking."
Chaotic View: "That's awesome Sant.... I mean Raider Claus. Its crazy to think that you have actually picked a side in the NFL to root for. I would have thought that you would be neutral. What makes you like the Raiders so much?"
Raider Claus: "Well son, My first Raiders game was on November 13, 1983. Raiders 22, Denver 20 when the Raiders played in Los Angeles. That year the Raiders won the AFC and went to Super Bowl XVIII and won 38-9 to the Redskins! Do you remember that year?"
Chaotic View: "Yes Mr. Claus. That was the year I first became a fan of the team. I lived 3 blocks from the Coliseum and parked cars on our yard for profit and would get extra tickets for being so good to people. We went to all home games in LA. On top of that, they won that Super Bowl on my Birthday, January 22. But enough about me, tell me more about what you think of the Raider Nation."
Raider Claus: "Ho Ho Ho Ho....... I have a secret for you..... I am such a die hard fan of the Raiders and you know why? Ho Ho Ho Ho..... Rudolph is the only other person who knows this, but I guess I am so die hard because I love to be hated! No, like I said. My first game was back in 83 and during the game I just knew I was going to be a Raiders Fan for Life. It was just amazing the energy of the Raiders Fans back then and how strong the Raider Family was and how strong our Raider Nation is today. That’s the difference between us and them, we are a true family and it’s not just being a fan it’s a life style...."

Chaotic View: "That's hilarious Raider Claus...... Too funny. Tell me about your game time experience. Where do you sit? How often do you get to come down south to check out a game?"
Raider Claus: "OOOOOOhhhhhhh Ho Ho ...... My seats are in Sec: 107. I only go down to Oakland for Division games and once a year as Raider Claus. I try to blend in as much as possible without being noticed by everyone...... Park the Sleigh in the RV Section. You know, where the Rowdy Fans get down....Oh and I have been to San Diego and Arizona to watch our mighty Raiders before too. Too hot in Arizona and well, San Diego is San Diego.... Ho Ho Ho......"

Chaotic View: "I know the RV area well. Where the Grill Iron Gang enjoys a feast every pre-game?"
Raider Claus: "That's the place....."
Chaotic View: "So what are the 3 most memorable experiences as a Raider fan?"
Raider Claus: "The first was meeting Mr. Al Davis at the Memorial Coliseum in 1984. The second was meeting Mr. Alzado. The third was meeting Howie Long."
Chaotic View: "I bet those 3 were not on your good list every year?"
Raider Claus: "Ho Ho Ho, Santa will not discuss the naughty list in a public forum. You bad boys and girls know who you are......"
Chaotic View: "What are your thoughts on Al passing away?"

Raider Claus: "Mr. Davis was not just our owner but a pioneer to the game which he loved. He was a man that when he talked everyone stopped and listened to. You may have not loved him but you respected him and I was glad to have had the honor to shake his hand, which he was not to big on doing. "

Chaotic View: "That's Awesome Santa.... I mean Raider Claus.... I'll get that name issue fixed soon.... Still can't believe that you are such a die hard Raider Fan...... SO back to the team, what do you think of us this year?"

Raider Claus: "I really believe in Coach Jackson and the energy that he brings to our Raiders. I truly believe that were heading down the right path even though it’s s a rocky path right now,  were going to post season.... (I have a bet with the Grinch... Wink WInk) "

Chaotic View: "Hey Mr. Claus, I have always wanted to ask, do you have a day job.... You know, outside of the North Pole?"
Raider Claus: "OH Ho Ho Ho..... Actually I do.... I’m a Federal Firefighter & Law Enforcement Officer for a Government Agency and also serve on a Federal Type 1 Incident Management Team and travel across the United States. "
Chaotic View: "A What? That's not a typical job that Santa should have. What do you do on a regular day?"
Raider Claus: "In my line of work there is no such thing as a regular day. One minute I can be called to save a life or protect property and the next minute I can be asking someone to press hard four copies please.  Every day is a different day and I can go to work and not come home for weeks at a time. I love my job that’s why I’ve been doing it for seventeen years. "
Chaotic View: "So I presume that your off time is very valuable for family and friends, since you don't get very much of it huh?"
Raider Claus: "Yeah....I am a guy that’s very close to my family and friends. I enjoy the time I get to spend with them and the memories we share together. I especially like it at home where I am very kicked backed and relaxed. At night I enjoy going out into the back yard, turning on the pool lights, lighting the tiki torches, turning on the outdoor speakers, smoking a nice cigar with a tall Capt.  & Coke while visiting with my lovely wife, Mrs. Claus."
Chaotic View: "Maybe I shouldn't ask, but I will...... Any kids?"
Raider Claus: "Ho Ho Ho Ho........ Not at this time but we enjoy working at it."
(Insert Boogie Nights Song Here ....... Bow Chicka Wow Wow)
Chaotic View: "HAHAHAHA..... Alright Santa, I know you need to get going.... Tell me something that you want me to pass along to the Raider Nation."
Raider Claus: "We’re ONE NATION, THE RAIDER NATION, THE ONLY NATION and others just wish they were like us. I hate when others call themselves “A Nation” yet, they have no idea.  Our fan base is worldwide, we are known for being Die Hard Fans and we live the life style. No others can say that. Also, don’t believe everything you hear or read by the Haters in the media. Our Super Fans, Booster Clubs and Fans support each other in a variety of charitable ways. I invite you to join in and really see what the Raider Nation is truly about."

Chaotic View: "Great message Raider Claus.....You are truly an inspiration. For obvious reasons, but for the not so obvious also.... Thanks for the gifts you always give to everyone.... I am sure you love getting them too...."
Raider Claus: "You know, The greatest gift that one can give is the gift of giving.  It doesn’t have to be monetary or gift it can be volunteering your time, helping someone in need, even just taking the time to listen to someone who needs to talk or even being a mentor or role model. Just taking the time to do something for another person can go a long way because one day you never know when you might need someone’s help."
Chaotic View: "Well with that I think I see Rudolph over there trying to hump Prancers leg. You think its time to go?"
Raider Claus: "Yeah but one last thing.... Tell the Raider Nation to Please visit http://www.facebook.com/raiderclaus for updated information on upcoming events. If you would like to make a Toy Donation you can send them to P.O. Box 809 Beaumont, Ca. 92223....."
"Ho Ho Ho Ho Ho MEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY CCHRRRRRRISSSSSSSSSSTTTTTTTMMMMMMMMMMMMAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Great Interview Raider Claus. Thank You for the time to show the Nation who you are and what you do.

Well............There Goes Our Control.........

What the hell just happened? How does a playoff contender, Division leader and the winner of 3 straight games against The Chargers, Vikings and  Bears come up short to a 3-8 team? This was not playoff caliber football!

Well, to be quite honest, there was a lot that played into our inability to be competitive in the game yesterday but I will say this, we lost the game yesterday because of POOR Offensive line play. The inconsistency and undisciplined play from players like Kahlif Barnes, who was called for penalties of holding and false start, cost this team momentum and points. To be quite honest, I was pissed that Hue Jackson didn't pull this idiot and put in someone else who maybe would be more conscious of his actions and how it impacts the team. He was out of position on the holding plays and had bad technique the entire game, forcing bad throws and tons of incompletions.

I don't know if you noticed it, but Carson Palmer didn't look comfortable yesterday what so ever. The typical time Palmer has had over the last few weeks seemed to go away. Palmer ended the day with 273 yards on 20 completions. In addition, what happened to the running lanes for Bush? He ended his day with 18 yards on 10 carries. There were even a few plays down field that the Offensive Line had blocking responsibilities on (The Screen to Reece and a few to Bush) where they just didn't get into the second level and hit someone. At the end of the play, they were standing there wondering what just happened. As you can see in the image to the left, Bush had a hard time picking up the blitz too, which led to a real bad day for Carson.

Our poor Defense led by Chuck Bresnahan has been gashed over and over and over and over again. When are we going to learn with this guy that he is not a good defensive coach? Isn't Jack Del Rio available? Something needs to happen and happen quick. Richard Seymour was kicked out of the game yesterday because his frustration got the best of him, but it just goes to show that he isn't just unhappy with the play on the field, he is unhappy with the scheme as well. We are not in position, guys are wide open and the run fits just are not happening and again a team puts over 150 yards rushing on us.

Overall yesterday, I was disappointed that we only held the ball for 21:40 of a 60 minute game. That is a piss poor showing on Offense and the only other team I have ever seen do that and win a game are the Oregon Ducks. Turns out we are not an option team and we don't run the hurry up offense, so what gives?

I have these messages for Hue..... Talk is Cheap! Make it happen, or our chances of doing anything goes down the toilet real quick. Handle the McClain issue quickly! Get this damn defense turned around, even if it means removing Bresnahan. Tell Al Saunders to get the damn ball to Marcel Reece. Get Kahlif Barnes' ass off the field and get Barksdale or Campbell in there in his place. You have the Nations attention. You have the teams attention. If we don't compete in the next two weeks against Green Bay and Detroit, you will lose both and people become very unforgiving. Just ask Jamarcus Russel.

We have now lost control of the AFC West, with the Donkeys holding the Tie Break advantage over us because of the scoring difference in our two games. Based on strength of schedule, I do not think there is very much difference so we have no choice but to win the West outright. If they continue their winning ways with TeBlow, it is going to be a long offseason.

Time To Get Violated!!!!!! Spotlight On The Raider Nation Superfan THE VIOLATOR

Raider Nation, I want to take this time to introduce you to a man who needs no introduction. He is considered one of the super fans of super fans of the Raider Nation. His face, unforgettable. His voice booms through crowds. His eyes will scare your great grand parents in their grave. He is Wayne Mabry, AKA The Violator.

I had the chance to sit down recently with Wayne and talk a little bit about his life, the Raiders and some of the things that Wayne holds near and dear to him. Check this out.

Chaotic View: "Who is The Violator?"

Violator: "I am a DIE-HARD Raider Fan and have been supporting the team for 40 yrs. You can typically find me roaming the South Parking lot near the RV Parking before and after the game as well as in Section 117 where I sits front row to catch all of the action. "

Chaotic View: "Do you travel with the team and show your support around the Nation?"

Violator: "I love to travel to other stadiums and represent for the Raider Nation and I have done so for all of the years of my fan hood. I bleed Silver and Black. "COME GET SOME ON YOU""

"Come Get Some On You!"
Chaotic View: "What is COME GET SOME ON YOU? Is that a phrase you have?"

Violator: "That is my most infamous message to the world "COME GET SOME ON YOU", which means spend some time with US in the RAIDER NATION and truly see our HEARTS."

(Note, if you ever meet Wayne in person and take a picture with him, you will hear this phrase as he points that Receivers Glove at the camera and opens those eyes nice and wide)

Chaotic View: "Do you have any others?"

Violator: "Yeah. The second would be to BELIEVE in yourself and share your LIGHT with others that you MAY enhance someones life."

Powerful words coming from what some around the NFL would consider to be a Menace huh?

Chaotic View: "So Wayne, what are some of the common questions you get from Fans in other stadiums or even from the Raider Nation?"

Violator: "The most common questions? Does the organization pay for my tickets? Am I on payroll to do what I do? How long it takes to put on my gear?"

Well, to set the record straight, Wayne drives at 3 AM Game Day Sunday to attend the Home Games and will drive the 7 hours home that night after the game is over, He is a Season Ticket Holder and purchases them himself and it takes him approx. 1.5 hours to transform himself into The Violator.

The Violator, Unmasked

Chaotic View: "So Who is The man behind the Mask? Who is Wayne Mabry?"

Violator: "I am a family man. I have 5 children. I am a humble, God fearing man and earn my living as a hard working union carpenter. Eventually, I would like to sell the Carpenter tool bags that I have been using since 1978, retire at the end of 2012, buy a luxury RV and travel to all the Raider games across the country like John Madden."

Chaotic View: "That's an awesome goal. Tell me about your most memorable memories as a Raider Fan."

Violator: "My most unforgettable memories as a fan are going to my FIRST Raiders game, painting up for the first time, purchasing 4 front row seats in the PIRATES pavilion, my first TV interview, getting voted into the HALL OF FAME IN 2000, getting to meet so many of the old players I watched as a kid, and now just watching the RAIDER NATION grow worldwide!!!!!!!!"

Chaotic View: "Really? The Hall Of Fame? Wow. How did that happen?"

Violator: "VISA contacted me because I didn't enter the contest the previous year, and sent me the paperwork for the following year's contest. I got inducted in 2000 and man was that great!!!!! Being inducted into the HALL OF FAME is the most incredible high for any football player and or fan, so I'm truly honored to say that for my dedication to my beloved RAIDERS, it's a blessing that I could never have imagined happening."

Chaotic View: "What does the Violator do around the community?"

Violator: "As an Ambassador of the Raiders, I attend a few charity events per year and just meet and greet fans, take photos, and give gifts on occasion."

Chaotic View: "So Wayne, What do you think of the Raider Nation? The Loyalty of the Fan Base? The Mystique of the Raiders?"

Violator: "Having a strong fan base to me is testimony to carrying one's self in a manner that let's people see that you're down to earth. I feel that one way to prove your loyalty is to go ALL OUT so you can see the results of that."

Chaotic View: "That's a great message. Is there anything you would like to say to the Raider Nation as we enter what seems to be the first Playoff Run we have had since 2002?"

Violator: "The message I would give to the RAIDER NATION is to keep believing in our DESTINY and let's give the team all of our ENERGY so no MOUNTAIN will be too high to climb!"

Chaotic View: "Any last words for the Raider Nation?"

Violator: "Yeah actually, there is. I want everyone to know that my website is my true passion. It is a full site featuring sports apparel. You can see the beginning of what I intend to share with the world. I hope to do business with all of you soon.GOD BLESS!"

Wayne proves that Raider Fans come from all walks of life. Whether they be Doctors, Lawyers, Operations Managers, Carpenters, Owners of their own businesses or whatever other profession there is, I am sure we are represented in it. Just so happens that some of us like to play Halloween everyday of the year, and from one Super Fan to another, that's alright with me!

First of all, I wanted to say I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Family and friends make the Holidays and this year should be no exception. I am grateful to each and every one of the Raider Nation for your support not only to me but to the Raiders. We are having a tremendous year and I know it will continue as we close this year up and head into the playoffs.

Back to business..... Wanted to run down the game a little against the Bears and shine a little light on the pros and cons of the game with you as I saw it.....

The Good-

sebastian-janikowski-chicago-bears-VS-oakland-raiders.jpgSebastian Janokowski- How about 19 of the 25 Raiders points? He is showing a confidence that I have always hoped he would. He is no longer timid, he is no longer hesitant and he as well as the next person on my list are the only consistent members of this team right now.

Shane Lechler- Can you say first ballot Hall of Fame? For as much flack as the NFL Hall Of Fame voters have taken for Ray Guy not being inducted, they had better get ready for when Shane retires as there  is no way in hell that Lechler is not selected as first ballot inductee, hands down. His foot alone changed the entire game for us yesterday, as it has on many other occasions. He kept Hester in check and he just keeps breaking records. Specifically with his 80 yard punt, a new team record.

Carson Palmer- Aside from one throw that I can tell you he wants back, Carson was able to accumulate 301 yards and only one pick against a very opportunistic Bears defense that has 16 interceptions this year. Although our woes continued in the red zone, a lot of that has to do with penalties and Carson not yet having the time to get his hands around the play book completely just yet. He can't audible in the red zone, other then to check to the run. Its very obvious and very telling in all of the red zone drives that have stalled since he has been here. Given some time though, this will change.

Defense-  People will most likely give the Bears a hall pass because of the loss of Jay Cutler, but this is the big boy league. It's next man up as far as we are concerned, so I don't give the Bears anything. We beat that team because of one over all stat that sticks out, that was Turnovers. 3 to be exact. Key interceptions allowed us to control the ball on Offense for 30 minutes in this game. The defense held Matt Forte to 52 yards rushing and Marion Barber didn't do hardly any better with 62 yards. In passing, we held the Bears to 254 yards in the air. All in all, the Defense showed up today!

Did I mention that Kamerion Wimbley and Aaron Curry played like beasts? Nice interception Wimbley!

The Bad-

Penalties- Yesterday was good as far as the penalties were concerned, but the biggest problem about the penalties we had yesterday were not in regards to quantity, but to the location they took place. 2 HUGE penalties took 14 points off the board alone. We were penalized in the 3rd Qtr on the 9 yard line for holding, resulting in a FG (Veldheer) and we were penalized on the 9 yard line in the 4th Qtr on a scoring play for holding by Wiz which resulted in a FG. Inopportune time took away from really good offensive playing by the entire team.

Time Management- On more than one occasion, the Raiders shot themselves in the foot when it came down to clock management. There was one play that stood out above all. It was a called completed catch for 18 yards that would have kept a critical drive alive. The ruling on the field was a a completed pass to DHB, and rather then the Raiders get on the ball, they called a time out and replay found a video angle that gave Lovie Smith enough evidence that the DHB had actually stepped out of bounds and after one play, we were forced to punt. Something has to be done to clean this up. Time outs are going to be critical in games in our future and this kind of poor clock management needs to stop.

The Raiders.........

Lost 10 of 12 since start of 05 when throwing for 300+ yards. Wins were Pitt 09 and Sea 10
Lechler's 49.2 net avg was 7th highest of his career. 53 vs Denver in 07 is highest.
Our 6 INTs last 2 games most in 2 game stretch since 06 when they had 2 vs Ari and 4 vs Pitt in their only wins.
Lost 14 of 16 games when avg under 3 yards per carry before win yesterday. Beat KC in 09 and Pitt in 06
12th in league with 18 INT's.
Tied for fewest dropped passes in league this season with 10. League average is 17.
Excel on 1st down defense. 11 sacks tied for league high; 8.59 avg yards to go on 2nd down is highest in league.
